Pablo La Rosa was born on October 24, 1944 in Cardenas, Cuba. His parents were Pablo La Rosa, a veterinarian, and Herminia (Alvarez) La Rosa, a homemaker.
Pablo La Rosa received his Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University in 1966. He also completed from the University of Kansas his Master of Arts and doctoral study during 1966-1972.
Pablo La Rosa worked as an associate professor at Graceland College in Lamoni during 1972-1978. He taught all courses in the Spanish Major curriculum and led study groups to Mexico and Colombia. He then was a margins analyst at Lowell H. Listrom Co. in Kansas City, Missouri from 1983 to 1988 where he monitored client accounts for compliance with securities regulations.
La Rosa was also a visiting instructor at Kansas State University in Manhattan in 1988-1989 where he taught lower level Spanish language classes and Creative Writing in Spanish. In 1989 La Rosa became an assistant professor at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. There he taught all levels of Spanish language, culture, and literature; critical thinking and writing; and creative writing. He also led study groups to Peru in 2006, 2007, and 2010.
In addition, Pablo La Rosa authored the book "Forbidden Fruit and Other Stories", which was published in 1996.
Besides, since 2011 he has been a workshop performer at Young Audiences of America where he conducts workshops in persuasive writing for middle school students (fifth through eighth grades).
Moreover, Pablo La Rosa has been a performer at Kansas City Music Services since 2002 where he is a guitarist and vocalist, and at Traditional Music Society & Young Audiences since 2011 where he is a guitarist, percussionist, and vocalist.
