Under the leadership of Sergei Pavlovich Korolev participated in the study of German trophy equipment and rocket designs, then in the development and testing of the first domestic land-based ballistic missiles. Since 1954, as part of a group of leading specialists, he worked in a special KB-385 under the Zlatoust Machine Building Plant, now the State Missile Center named after Academician Makeev, in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk Region).
