Pavel Efimovich Basistov was born in 1823 in Russian Federation.

Education

In 1839 Pavel Efimovich graduated from the 2nd Moscow Gymnasium, in 1843 - the 1st department (historical and philological) of the philosophical faculty of Moscow University.

Career

Pavel Efimovich Basistov started at the Tver Gymnasium as a teacher of the Greek language. Less than a year later he was transferred to the 1st Moscow Gymnasium - to the position of teacher of literature. During the years 1844-1877, Pavel Efimovich also taught at the 2nd Cadet Corps, the Alexander and Nikolaev Women's Institutes, the philistine and theatrical schools.

In 1857, Pavel Efimovich left teaching and decided to work at a railway service. A few years later, at the request of Count Stroganov, he again received a teaching position at the Nikolaev Orphanage Institute; resumed teaching in other educational institutions.

A few years before his death on June 10, 1882, Pavel Efimovich was appointed by the Duma to be the head of Moscow city schools, a member of the school department of the city government, and a member of the school city council. Then the training department of the Society for the dissemination of technical knowledge elected him as its chairman.
