(Provides a state-of-the-art summary of the experimental a...)
Provides a state-of-the-art summary of the experimental and theoretical studies undertaken to provide an understanding of the behavior and strength of riveted and bolted structural joints. Since the first edition of this book was published in 1974, numerous international studies on the strength and performance of bolted connections have been conducted, and new specifications for structural joints have been developed by the Research Council on Structural Connections. This second, updated edition has been prepared and approved by the Research Council. Design criteria are presented as the summary to each of the various aspects of connector and joint behavior. Evaluates both service load level performance and ultimate strength, and examines both riveted and high-strength bolted connections.
