Student of University California Studied art, New York City. Studied dance with Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, New York City, 1930-1940.
With Humphrey-Weidman Company, 1930-1940. Also dancer, choreographer various Broadway shows, 1933-1940. Faculty, dance department Bennington College, Temple University, U. Pittsburgh, Mills College, University of California 1935-1942, Dance Players Studio, Sarah Lawrence College, own company with Doris Humphrey as artistic director, made concert tours of the United States, Canada.
Performed in Paris, 1950.
Invited by National Institute Fine Arts of Mexico to perform and choreograph with National Academy Dance, 1950-1951. New York season 1952 sponsored by Rothschild Foundation.
Participated as dancer, choreographer and instructor American Dance Festival sponsored by Connecticut College, summers seasons 1948-1969 dancer cultural mission American National Theatre and Academy for State Department to South America, 1954, Europe, 1957, Central America and South America, 1960, Far East and Australia, 1963. Adviser on dance institute international Education, New York State Council Arts, 1963.
