Studied at Kiev University.
1900 expelled from university for participating in revol-democratic movement and exiled to Vologda Province. In early 1900’s sided with "Legal Marxists”. 1909 one of principal contributors to periodical Vekhi which opposed materialism and atheism and advocated religion and idealism.
1922 expelled from Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. Secretariat up Academy of Philosophy and Religion in Berlin. 1924 moved to Paris and founded journal Put’ (published 1925-1940).
All religions persuade people to rely on outside authority, thus preventing them to become self-reliant.
Every person has rights to express his or her opinion, but the opinion could be expressed if it was in accordance with the general interests of Soviet society.
