Began career at Chase Manhattan Bank(1982-1986) in the Operations and Technology Division. Was hired as a systems analyst and left four years later as a second vice president/line manager. Joined Bankers Trust (1986-1999) as an assistant vice president and left Bankers Trust as a partner to join Citigroup. Had various roles at Bankers Trust including management consulting group, chief of staff to a vice-chairman, head of defined contribution business, head of private bank marketing and strategy, head of US private banking. Was recruited by Sandy Weill to join Citigroup(1999-2004) to run Citigroup's US private bank and was promoted to the global private banking head six months later and joined the Citigroup management committee in 2002. Left Citigroup after disagreements with Citi CEO, Charles Prince, and was hired by Chuck Schwab as CEO of US Trust (2005-2007) to lead a turnaround and sale of the firm. Sold US Trust in 2007 to Bank of America. Joined Goldman Sachs as a partner to run the global private client business after the US Trust deal closed. Retired from Goldman Sachs several years later to focus on board work and private investing.
Over the years Mr. Scaturro has had significant involvement in education serving on the board of visitors at the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science as well as on the Curry School of Education Board at The University of Virginia. Mr. Scaturro has also been involved in not-for-profit boards supporting education including the Inner City Scholarship Foundation Board in New York City and also sat on the board of Archbishop Molloy High School where he attended and was an All-American athlete.
