(The purpose of this book is to help pastors and congregat...)
The purpose of this book is to help pastors and congregations prepare for the Lenten season and the celebration of Easter. Ideas and suggestions are provided for both preaching and worship. At the same time, this book can be used either as an introduction to or a review of Luther's "theology of the cross." And while "the theology of the cross" theme is especially pertinent to the Lent and Easter season of the church year, it is hardly seasonal. The series of sermons and worship ideas could also be fitted into other seasons. From the Preface
