After graduating from the Moscow Financial Institute, for many years Raisa Ivanovna worked in the All-Union Correspondence Accounting and Credit College of the State Bank of the USSR. Scientific, organizational and public activities of Raisa Ivanovna were very fruitful developed during the work in public scientific associations: All-Union Council of Scientific and Technical Societies (ACSTS), Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations (Societies) – SEA Union, All-Union Economic Society (AES), International Union of Economists (IUE) and Free Economic Society of Russia (FES of Russia). In 1989 - 1996 seminars on the problems of cooperation in industry, science, economy in Germany, Belgium, Australia, Hungary, Spain, Bulgaria were held. Plotnikova R.I. is one of the initiators of the creation of the International Union of Economists, where she has been working since 1991 as a director. She is a member of the editorial board "With Labor of IUE and AES of Russia", organizes the production of IUE newsletters and other publications of IUE and AES of Russia.
Raisa Ivanovna was elected the secretary of the International Business Academy and a Full Member of the International Academy of Management, operating under the International Union of Economists.
Raisa Ivanovna is one of the initiators of the creation of the Alumni Association of the Moscow Financial Institute (now Moscow Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation).
Raisa Ivanovna is the author of textbooks and methodological developments on the issues of bank accounting, credit and analysis of financial and economic activities.
Working in the AES of Russia, R.I. Plotnikova made a great contribution to improving the cooperation of Russian regional and international organizations of economists, took an active part and initiated many international symposiums, seminars and business meetings dedicated to the expansion and deepening of mutual understanding and mutual assistance of scientists, economists and experts from leading countries of the world: Russia and France, Russia and the United States, Russia and Britain, and others.
