Andrews attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Career

Since 1955 Andrews has freelanced as a copywriter and author. Prior to that he was an account executive with advertising agencies in Los Angeles and in Seattle, Washington (1925-41, 1950-55). From 1941 to 1945 he was a civilian employee of the U.S. Army - a port historian - in Seattle. Having developed a strong interest in lumber¬ing while working as a youthful saw salesman, Andrews made that industry a focal point of his photographic interests.
