Ray Pritchard was born on September 26, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. He is a son of Tyrus Raymond Pritchard, a surgeon, and Zelma Agnes (Poduska) Pritchard.
Pritchard earned Bachelor of Arts degree from Tennessee Temple College (now Tennessee Temple University) in 1974. Four years later he became a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. He then received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Talbot School of Theology in 1989. Pritchard also attended Fuller Theological Seminary and Melodyland School of Theology.
At the beginning of his career, Pritchard held a position of an assistant pastor of a church in Midlothian, Texas from 1976 till 1978. For five years from that time he was a pastor of evangelical Christian churches in Downey, California, and then he held the same post in Garland, Texas, for five years as well. Pritchard was also a professor at East Los Angeles School of Ministry, staying there for two years from 1981. He worked as a senior pastor at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, Illinois from 1989.
Pritchard serves as a guest lecturer and visiting instructor at such educational institutions and seminaries as Dallas Theological Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Word of Life Bible Institute, Moody Bible Institute and Florida Bible Institute.
Additionally, Pritchard is a guest on religious television and radio programs. Currently, he works as a president of Keep Believing Ministries, an Internet-based ministry serving Christians in 225 countries. He also serves as a regular co-host on "Today's Issues" on the American Family Network.
Pritchard is the author of 27 books, including An Anchor for the Soul, Stealth Attack, Names of the Holy Spirit, and Credo. He is a contributor to periodicals, including Moody and On the Father Front.
