Career
Reizo Yamashina founded Kibi Company for marketing products of his native place in 1884. Later he founded Naval Engineering Company and handled construction of piers, bridges, the refloating and reclaiming of wrecked ships, etc. It was estimated that his company must have salvaged more than 100 ships.
Reizo Yamashina was the vice-director of the Chamber of Commerce, the director of Japan Marine Industrial Company and the managing director of Yamashita Steamship Company. He made many business trips abroad and was elected to Diet (1930).
