(Out of love, out of money, out of character, Richard St. ...)
Out of love, out of money, out of character, Richard St. Ofle fell in love, left his wife, and took a job silkscreening in Guadeloupe, a tiny drop of ink on the map, somewhere deep in the Caribbean. What followed would test his character and change the course of his life forever. A poetic and magical season, "No Wolf (the waygoing compromise)" tells the story of St.Ofle's life-changing summer of 2008.

Richard St.Ofle was born December 1, 1978, in the United States.
St.Ofle pursued a double major in Rhetoric and Film Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where his academic work examined post-war xenophobia in film noir through a Lacanian analytical framework.
He later earned a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.
St.Ofle began his creative career as a writer, gaining recognition with his independently released debut novel No Wolf (the waygoing compromise), published on June 4, 2010. The work received critical attention for its unconventional approach to memoir-style narrative and was noted for its raw and direct prose style.
He continued his literary work with a second book, Dreams Coming (and Not Coming True), published in the spring of 2014. Both works have been associated with Tealwood Publishing Group.
After relocating to Los Angeles, he shifted his primary focus toward screenwriting and film production. During his graduate studies at USC, his script Escape From It’s A Wonderful Life was featured at the university’s annual Pitch Fest and screened at the Sacramento International Film Festival and the Burbank International Film Festival.
He subsequently worked in the television industry, contributing to productions such as Bones and Owl Moon Saga.
In 2021, he served as executive producer for an Indigenous short film presented at the Sundance Film Festival, reflecting his engagement with independent and socially relevant cinema. He has also been involved in ongoing development projects, including collaborations with Searchlight Pictures.
In addition to his creative work, St.Ofle has held an academic position as an assistant professor, contributing to education in film and writing disciplines.
