(A familiar face to viewers of the BBC's election coverage...)
A familiar face to viewers of the BBC's election coverage, MORI's veteran American born pollster Bob Worcester was a key advisor to the Labour Party in Britain for many years. In this ultimate analysis of the groundbreaking 1997 British General Election he uses opinion polls conducted before, during and after the election to show how New Labour spin doctors and Tony Blair targeted their campaign.

(Big new changes in the British electoral system - devolve...)
Big new changes in the British electoral system - devolved assemblies for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, proportional representation for the European parliament and the direct election of London's Mayo - have all been introduced since the last general election in 1997, and others may be on the way. They are described and discussed by Dick Leonard, a leading political journalist and former MP, and Roger Mortimore, a senior opinion pollster, in this completely revised and updated edition of the standard work on British elections.

(Explaining Cameron’s Comeback analyses hundreds of survey...)
Explaining Cameron’s Comeback analyses hundreds of surveys and focus groups to make sense of the 2015 election campaign from the voter’s perspective: what they really thought of Cameron and Miliband; why the campaign was so unusual; why it made sense to go negative, despite voters’ claimed dislike of it; and why the pundits read the polls wrong. They also use trend data going back six decades to help show what the 2015 campaign means for the next five years of British politics, from the European Referendum to the 2020 election.

(This book offers a unique exploration of the 2015 General...)
This book offers a unique exploration of the 2015 General Election from the perspectives of those most intimately involved as strategists, journalists and analysts. It features contributions from the rival parties, news and polling organizations as well as academic experts who examine all aspects of the campaign. A common theme that emerges is the increasing complexity of the democratic process given the development of a more multifaceted party system and a growing fragmentation in mass media audiences. The UK electoral landscape has changed: in 2015 six parties received more than a million votes whereas in the 2010 General Election it was only three. This book provides invaluable insights into contemporary British politics through analysis of an election whose outcome, an outright Conservative victory, surprised many commentators. It will appeal to students and scholars in the fields of electoral politics and media and communication, as well as to practitioners and the wider reader interested in British general elections.

(Explaining Cameron's Catastrophe uses expert analyses of ...)
Explaining Cameron's Catastrophe uses expert analyses of hundreds of surveys and focus groups run by Ipsos MORI to make sense of the UK's 2016 EU referendum on Brexit: how we got here; the context, content and process; lessons from 1975; what remain did wrong; why the leave campaign was so successful; voters attitudes; and the aftermath. They also show what the 2016 referendum result, and life without the EU, means for the future of the UK.
