(Roy Olson’s varied life has carried him from his birthpla...)
Roy Olson’s varied life has carried him from his birthplace on the shores of Lake Superior to the bustling streets of Chicago and then to the very highest levels of political power. He has interviewed one-on-one Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, been upbraided by one of the nation's leading football coaches, and counseled an aged inner city pastor, who had been "marked for death" by a drug gang. Olson has brushed shoulders with the most powerful of leaders, members of organized crime, sports heroes, and the “down and out.” Here, he offers a stimulating series of vignettes that portray life experiences ranging from the zany to the solemn, from Hearst newspapering to biblical study and from a Manhattan glass to an inner city ministry. Olson’s accomplishments have earned him a place in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
