Rqael Shemtov received a diploma from the Neri Bloomfield, Haifa, Community College School of Design (now the NB Haifa School of Design) in 1978, and a certificate in creative photography from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem in 1979. From 1978 to 1980 she studied at State Art Teachers Training College, Ramat Hasharon, Israel.
Career
Since 1979 Rqael Shemtov has been a photography teacher at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. In 1979 she also received grants from the Israeli Culture and Art Committee and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. She works staging certain situations for her photographs, then juxtaposing two prints. In 1978 she did photographic documentation of Tel Aviv.
