Education
Ryo Yanagi graduated from Nihon Fine Arts School in 1921. After that he went to France and studied history of Western painting at Research Institute attached to Louvre Art Museum and history of fine arts at Sorbonne University.
Career
After returning (1931) engaged in criticism of fine arts. He served as dean of Fine Arts Division of Art Department of Nihon University (1938-1943). He was a lecturer at Nihon Dental College.
