Saburō Miyamoto was born on May 23, 1905 in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
He graduated from Kawabata Art School in 1926. Studied in France for a year in 1938.
Returning home became a member of Nika Fine Arts Society, from which he resigned in 1947 to found Dai Nikikai Arts Society, of which he was the leading figure. Achieved great fame for his paintings which are founded on the art-for-art principle. Is also a distinguished illustrator for magazines, etc.
