Sachindra Nath Mukherjee was born on July 2, 1903 in Burdwan, West Bengal, India.

Education

Sachindra Nath Mukherjee graduated from the University of Calcutta, where he was awarded the Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in 1924, the Master of Science degree in 1926, the Doctor of Science degree in 1948. Also he had done research in Colloid Chemistry.

Career

Sachindra Nath Mukherjee worked as a Lecturer in Chemistry at Visva-Bharati University (1929 -1933). In 1933-1938 - Physical Chemist at School of Tropical Medicine in Calcutta. In 1938-1946 he worked at University College of Calcutta as a Lecturer in Chemistry. Since 1946 - Professor of Physical Chemistry at Jadavpur University. Also he was appointed the Head of Chemistry Department & Dean of Faculty of Science at Jadavpur University.
