Sadamitsu Usami was born in 1489 in Japan. He was the son of Usami Takatada, he was long a notable retainer of the Nagao clan of Echigo.

Sadamitsu Usami was born in 1489 in Japan. He was the son of Usami Takatada, he was long a notable retainer of the Nagao clan of Echigo.
Sadamitsu Usami tried unsuccessfully to dissuade Kenshin Uesugi from attacking Masakage Nagao. Kenshin not only refused to take his advice but ordered Sadayuki to lead the attack against Masakage. In the ensuing battle Sadayuki grappled with and killed Kagemasa and then killed himself.
Usami Sadayuki was a man of stern character, broad-minded and wise.
