Sankichi Takei was born on October 26, 1896 Nagano, Japan.
He graduated from Tokyo University in 1920. He became research student of Agricultural Science Research Institute, assistant professor of Kyoto University in 1924, went to Germany in 1925. He studied organic chemistry at Heidelberg University and returned to Japan (1928).
Sankichi Takei was appointed professor of Agricultural Faculty, Kyoto University (1928) as well as staff member of Chemistry Research Institute. Works: "Studies of Green Leave Alcohol", "Studies of Green Tea Flavor".
He received Academy Prize in 1934 for study of deris root. Also he received Education Ministry Science Research Fund for "Studies of Substance of Hanahiri Tree". Patents: "Method of Making Chlorc Methyl Naphthalene" and "Method of Improving Flavor of Tea".
