Education

Satoru Umene graduated from Tokyo Bunrika (Literature and Science) University (1933).

Career

Satoru Umene served as principal of a public high school in Saitama Prefecture, deputy mayor of Kawaguchi City and appointed professor of Tokyo Education University (1949). He was conferred Doctor of Letters for his thesis "Process of the Formation of the Public Education System of German Cities in the Middle Age."
