Lecturer Kyoritsu Women's Junior College, Tokyo, 1970—1974, assistant professor, 1974—1980, Hosei University, Tokyo, 1980—1981, professor, 1981—1993. Professor English literature Chuo University, since 1994. Visiting scholar University Cambridge (England), 2003.
