Education
Takitomo first studied English under Hikojiro Nakamigawa at Uwajima Ehime Prefecture, and in 1881 was teaching English at the Jishii English School at Wakayama City.
Career
Takimoto switched to journalism and edited several magazines and a newspaper. Later he became manager of a publishing house. In between his literary work Seiichi helped develop land in Chiba Prefecture. He became a professor at the Doshisha University (1914) and ended up as a professor at the Keio University (1919).
