In 1936 Serafim Alexandrovich graduated the Faculty of Musical History and Theory and the choral department of the Leningrad Conservatory (now Saint Petersburg Conservatory).
Serafim Alexandrovich was the head of amateur choirs in Nizhny Novgorod and Leningrad (1923-1936). Conductor of the Ukrainian choir "Dumka" (1936-1937). Artistic Director of the Song and Dance Ensemble at the Office for Arts in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) and the Leningrad Military District (1937-1939). He worked in Tallinn as a music director of the House of the Red Army (1940-1941), music director and conductor of the choir of the House of Officers of the Army and Navy (1944-1957), as well as a teacher at the conservatory (1950-1957). Serafim Alexandrovich was a lecturer of the Voronezh State Pedagogical University (1957-1966). Chairman of the Voronezh Branch of the Choral Society (1962-1970).
Author of the opera "Nikitin" (1963), cantatas of "The Memory of Koltsov" (1959), romances, choirs, arrangements of folk songs, as well as research works, in particular, "Teaching guide on singing for children's choir" (Moscow, 1977).
