Graduated from Moscow University, 1890.
Career
Professor of Moscow University, 1903, Director of the Moscow Vysshie Zhenskie Kursy (Higher Women’s Courses). Director of the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute until the mid-1930s. Pioneered research on dynamics of gases and was involved in the Soviet military industry on work on the profiles of aircraft wings.
Membership
Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences from 1929.
