Sergey Andreevich graduated from the medical faculty of Voronezh State University (1925).
Sergey Andreevich was a laboratory Assistant at Voronezh Provincial Sanitary and Bacteriological Institute (since 1920). Surgeon in rural hospitals of the Voronezh province. Since 1934 he worked in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). Military doctor (1938-1958). Deputy Chief Surgeon of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940 and the Great Patriotic War.
Sergey Andreevich was a Scientific Secretary, Head of the Research Encyclopedic Group, Scientific Advisor to the Main Edition, Member of the Editorial Board of the Big Medical Encyclopedia (since 1958). He participated in the development of scientific and methodological foundations of the 3rd edition of the Big Medical Encyclopedia, Small and Brief Medical Encyclopedias, in preparation for the publication of the works of N.I. Pirogov. He is the author of more than 100 scientific works on the problems of public and military-field surgery.
