Alexandrinsky Theatre
Sergey Osipovich Boykov was born on July 5, 1827.
From 1840 Sergey Osipovich studied at the Saint Petersburg Theater School, where he “showed rather satisfactory successes in drama art”, however, “due to poor health and at the request of relatives,” he was dismissed in April 1846.
In October 1850, after his debut at the Saint Petersburg Circus Theater, Sergey Osipovich was recruited to serve in Alexandrinsky Theater (dismissed in January 1871). He also played in other Saint Petersburg and provincial theaters (including in Penza, Tver). His main role was a comic lover.
Since the beginning of the 50s, he translated and remade French (M. Michel, E. Labisch, S. D. Dupouty, P. Siroden) and German vaudeville (about 40 in total), which were successfully staged on provincial and Petersburg stages, including at the Alexandrinsky Theater. He was printed in Panteon.
