Sheila M. Kearns

Background

Sheila Kearns was born on July 9, 1955 in Bennington, Vermont, United States. She is the daughter of James M. and Rita (Sausville) Kearns.

Education

Kearns graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977. Two years later she received his Master of Arts degree from Syracuse University in 1979. She then graduated from the University of California at Irvine, where she earned her doctorate in 1984.

She also received a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1995.

Career

Kearns started her career as an assistant professor of English at the University of Texas in Austin in 1985. Since 1994, she works as a research associate of the Innovation, Creativity, and Capital Institute of the university.
