Sheila Moxley was born on September 10, 1966, in Bournemouth, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of Alan Moxley, a solicitor. As a child, Sheila used to make magazines which she would distribute to her friends.
Moxley received her Diploma of Foundation Studies from Bournemouth and Poole College of Art & Design in 1986. She also graduated from St. Martin’s School of Art with a bachelor's degree in graphic design (with honours) in 1989.
Moxley has worked as a freelance illustrator since leaving art college in 1989 and has illustrated magazines and greeting cards as well as children's' books. She currently works as a freelance illustrator and writer, based in Cornwall.
