Shimanosuke Takeda became professor and dean of the Fishery Science Department of his alma mater. He wrote theses on "Bacteriological Studies on Spoiled Canned Goods", "New Disease of Red Trout", etc.
He was a member of Japan Agricultural Chemistry Society and Sapporo Agricultural Forestry Society.
