After graduating from Waseda University (1910) continued his studies in America.
Returning home after an absence of seven years Shinjiro Kitazawa was appointed professor at his alma mater. Took great interest in labor movements and when the League of Constructors was formed Shinjiro was made its head (1919). Together with Ikuo Oyama and Manabu Sano helped conduct research in military science (1923).
Shinjiro Kitazawa took to politics by joining the Nippon No-minto (Farmers) Party, but as he failed to be elected to the Diet he reverted back to his academic pursuits.
