Shiva Deva Singh Greval

Background

Shiva Deva Singh Greval was born on December 31, 1892, in Najafgarh (now Delhi, India). He had two siblings: Hira Singh and Uttam Kaur.

Education

Shiva Deva Singh Greval took the Bachelor of Science Degree at Punjab University in 1912. In 1917, he became Bachelor of Medicine. In 1919, took the Doctor of Medicine Degree and Doctor of Philosophy at Liverpool University. Shiva Deva Singh Greval studied Immunology and specialized in the prevention of diseases.

Career

In 1919, Shiva Deva Singh Greval joined Indian Army Medical Services. In 1949, he retired as serologist and chemical Examiner with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He also worked as Professor at Indian School of Tropical Medicine in Calcutta. Shiva Deva Singh Greval also worked as an editor at Indian Medical Gazettee and was a member of Calcutta Club. About 100 articles and research papers, as well as five books by Shiva Deva Singh Greval, were published.
