In 1919, Shiva Deva Singh Greval joined Indian Army Medical Services. In 1949, he retired as serologist and chemical Examiner with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He also worked as Professor at Indian School of Tropical Medicine in Calcutta. Shiva Deva Singh Greval also worked as an editor at Indian Medical Gazettee and was a member of Calcutta Club.
