Shoan Tsujimoto studied under Rankei Taki and taught pupils at his home in Shitaya, Edo (now Tokyo).
Shoan Tsujimoto was appointed teacher at Igakukan (medical school) (1837) and was appointed physician to the Shogunate (1847), with the title of Hogen, which was elevated to the rank of Hoin (1854).
