Shotaro Kon studied at Medical Department of Tokyo University and graduated from it in 1922.
After graduation from university Shotaro Kon became hospital staff member of Hokkaido University and then in 1923 assistant at the same university. He was vice-chief doctor at Internal Treatment Department of Sapporo Railway Hospital in 1927, director of Hiroshima Railway Clinic in 1939. Moreover in 1940 Shotaro Kon occupied the post of director of Hiroshima Railway Hospital and then in 1949 of Osaka Railway Hospital, which in 1952 came under jurisdiction of Osaka Railway Superintendent Bureau.
