International business leader in the edutech industry and experienced entrepreneur. More than a decade of experience in China, sales, startups, and leading winning teams. He is an active speaker to students, entrepreneurs, and professionals from various sectors interested in China.
Education
Sid has history of competing on winning teams and forging rewarding relationships. Sid began his college pursuits at the University of Utah, where he performed at the top of his class and was part of an undefeated WAC conference championship basketball team that advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. He then spent two years in Taichung, Taiwan and Macau, China on a volunteer mission, becoming fluent in Mandarin Chinese and serving in leadership roles in both countries.
Upon return to the states, he transferred to Brigham Young University and, before graduation, started two successful businesses. Traveling back and forth from Detroit, Michigan and Provo, Utah, to attend classes and run his business, he finally graduated with a bachelors degree in business administration. He has continued as a successful entrepreneur, most recently founding Zinch.com.
Career
Having assembled the founding team in China, where his organization is now the market leader, he now leads strategy for China, the Middle East, Turkey and other Chegg international offerings.
Sid built and launched Zinch as a tool to empower students in the college admission process, focused on connecting American students with opportunities. Now serve more than 4.5 million students and nearly 1,000 universities.
Three years later, he led international strategy, assembled experienced local team, and relocated to Beijing to build an adapted service to the local market that now reaches more than 250,000 students in China.
Zinch was acquired by Chegg in Fall 2011, and remains focused on the original goal to empower students through innovation.
During 2002-2007 HKK became the leader in local market, expanded to other states, and navigated the dramatic changes national landscape of real estate during this time frame.
Prior to incorporating HKK, Sid entered the industry as a college intern, quickly climbing the ranks as the youngest top sales leader in his organization.
During 2004-2005 he led sales positioning, marketing collateral creation, and user adoption in real estate of emerging digital signature technology patented by Nxlight, a venture-backed Utah tech company.
