So Sadamori was born in 1385. He was the son of Sadashige.
Succeeded his father as lord (1419). In the same year, he repulsed an attack of a Korean force on the island. Korea at the time considered Tsushima as the base of operation of wako or Japanese pirates. The battle is called oei-no-Gaiko, or the invasion in the Oei Era.
In 1443, he concluded a trade agreement with the Korean emperor, under which Japanese ships visiting Korea were limited to 50 a year. The pact is called the Kakitsu Era Pact.
Korea hoped that by providing Japan with trade profits it could eliminate damage done by Japanese pirates. Japanese pirates had been harassing Korea since the Nambokucho Period and constituted a factor for the fall of the Korai Dynasty in that country.
The Ri Dynasty which rose subsequently tightened Korean coastal defense, fostered friendly relations with the So family on Tsushima and won over Japanese pirates by giving them good treatment. Thus Japanese pirates gradually turned to the South Seas.
