Education
He graduated from Meiji University.
Career
Upon graduating from Meiji University, he became professor of Meiji University (1943), following year was drafted in the army (1944).
After being repatriated to Japan (1946), he organized the Тоrо Relics Special Investigation Committee and succeeded in carrying out large-scale researches of Того, Shizuoka Prefecture. Since the discovery of the ruins at Iwasukune, Gumma Prefecture (1949), he investigated relics of the non-earthenware age that preceded the age of the Jomon-shiki (straw-rope pattern) pottery.
