At first, Stepan Petrovich Ozhigin worked at theaters of Sterlitamak, Ufa, Kuibyshev. In 1936, he joined the theater staff of the Kuibyshev Drama Theater, studying and working there. Participated in the Great Patriotic War. In 1946-1955, Stepan Petrovich was an actor at theaters of Kyiv, Kursk, Izhevsk, Saratov. In 1955-1966, 1967-1969, he worked at the Voronezh Drama Theater. In 1960, Stepan staged the play "Escape from the night" by the Tour brothers in Voronezh and played the role of Morozov there. In 1969-1989, Stepan Petrovich Ozhigin was an actor of the Gorky Drama Theater.
