Steve Rasnic Tem attended college at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 1974, he became a student of Colorado State University.

Career

Science fiction writer Steve Rasnic Tem established his reputation with short stories but has also written novels and served as an editor of a science fiction anthology, High Fantastic: Colorado's Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, and Science Fiction, and other books. Tem's contributions to the volume include an introduction for each story.

Tem's first novel, Excavation, is a horror story about a man who returns to the home he ran away from as a young adult. It was published in 1987.

Tem's short fiction includes Fairytales, among other works. The central figure is a children's writer who secretly pens twelve horrific stories that he refers to as Tales I Can Never Read to My Children. With the chapbook Celestial Inventory, Tem offered readers a grim glimpse into a man's life.

Steve has published over 450 short stories.

His latest book is Everything is Fine Now, published in 2019.
