Career
During the attack on Osaka Castle he was ordered to stay in the Kanto District and to protect Awa Province (Chiba Prefecture), but he secretly returned to Osaka and asked Masanobu Honda, councilor of the Tokugawas, for permission to participate in the assault on Osaka Castle. While Masanobu reprimanded him for leaving his post, leyasu gave him the necessary permission (1614). Upon his father’s death (1634) he succeeded to family fief of 70,000 koku and shortly after was appointed deputy castellan of the captured Osaka Castle.
