Tai-hoon Kim

Background

Kim was born on February 1, 1971 in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea; the son of Heesoon Kim and Inbo Kim.

Education

Kim received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology in 1991. A year later he earned his Master of Science degree in Spacecraft Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Remote Sensing in 1996 from the University College of London.

Career

Kim began his career as a researcher at SindoRicoh in 1996 and held it for three years. In 2002, he became a senior researcher at Korean Information Security Agency. Then in 2004, Tai-hoon took a position of a secretary of the Defense Security Command.

Also he worked as a research professor at Ewha Women University from 2006 to 2007. Since 2007 Kim has served as a professor at Hannam University. Also since 2006 he has been a vice-chairman of Science and Engineering Research Support Center.

Achievements

• Kim has patents of pending for Intellectual Property address assignment method based on internal security level.

Kim is a member of Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, Korean Society of Geospatial Information Systems, American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Korean Spatial Information Systems Society and Korean Society of Remote Sensing.
