Takatsukasa Sukehiro was born in Kyoto, 1807. He was the son of Masamichi.
Takatsukasa Sukehiro was appointed a Minister of Right and was disrrussed from this post and placed under house arrest two years later for his complicity in the Ansei-no-Taigoku uprising. He was pardoned (1862) and the following year was appointed adviser to the Emperor.
After the Meiji Restoration (1868) he became a director of Seido Jimukyoku (System Research Bureau), governor of shrines and a councilor successively.
