He was Dainagon (Vice Minister). During the reign of Emperor Godaigo, he succeeded Tamefuji in the task of compiling the anthology Zoku Gojui-wakashu and completed it. At the command of Emperor Gokogon, he compiled the anthology, Shin Senzai-wakashfi.
