After graduating, Tatyana Fedorovna was a teacher of Russian language and literature (Voronezh, 1977-1981), methodologist of the Voronezh branch of the Moscow Regional State Institute of Physical Culture (now Moscow State Academy of Physical Education) (1981-1983), teacher of the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute (now Voronezh State Pedagogical University) (1983-1986), teacher (1986-1997), associate professor (from 1997 years) of the Faculty of Philology of the Voronezh State University.
Since 1986, Tatyana Fedorovn is the organizer of the annual folklore student expeditions in the villages of the Voronezh region. On the initiative of Pukhova, the Museum of Folk Culture and Ethnography was opened in Voronezh State University (2006).
Tatyana Puchiva is author of more than 50 scientific and methodical works on the relationship of mythology, folklore, literature. She compiled several collections published in Voronezh.
