Career
In 1500, Gokashiwabara Tennō ascended the Throne after the death of his father, the Emperor Go-Tsuchimikado. He found the Imperial Court in a state of decline after the civil war of the Onin Era. He could not afford to hold the enthronement ceremony, which took place 22 years after his ascension.
