Theodore Hymowitz, American Plant geneticist, educator. Achievements include research in the establishment of chromosomal mapof the soybean, inheritance of the absence of seed lectin in soybeans, elucidation of genomic relationships among species in the genus Glycine, development of soybean cultivar lacking the Kunitz trypsin inhibitor, history of the introduction of the soybean to North America.
