Tikhon Yakovlevich Tkachev was born on August 26, 1885 in Voronezh, Russian Federation.
He graduated from the Biryuchsk Theological College, the Voronezh Theological Seminary (1907), the medical faculty of Kharkov University (1912).
During the First world war, Tikhon Yakovlevich was a military doctor in the active army. Since 1923, he lived in Voronezh. He worked in the provincial department of health, taught at the medical faculty of the Voronezh State University. Tikhon Yakovlevich was a state sanitary inspector of the people's Commissariat of health of the USSR (1939-1941, Moscow). Long-term head of the Voronezh historical and medical scientific society.
Along with his professional work, Tikhon Yakovlevich was actively engaged in literature and artistic creativity, kept a diary, and led a student literary circle. Until 1963 – head of the department of social hygiene and organization of sanitary Affairs of the Voronezh State Medical Institute.
