Tomiyasu Fusel joined the Ministry of Communications, rising to become vice-minister of same. He was a chief editor of Wakaba, a haiku magazine which aims to guide young beginners in the art of composing haiku poetry. Is the author of several anthologies such as Kusa-no-Hana (Flower of Grass).
