Shakouchi, Toshihiko was born on September 2, 1945 in Kuye-shi, Hiroshima, Japan. Son of Ichiro and Shizue Shakouchi.

Research associate faculty engineering Mie University, Tsu, 1971—1984, associate professor, 1985—1994, professor engineering, 1994—2001, professor Graduate School Engineering, since 2001. Researcher Erlangen University, Germany, since 1992. Referee Research Grants Council Hong Kong Government, since 1995.
